The economic situation in the EU is very complicated. It can be seen by the recent banks stress test. A larger number of banks was tested by the ECB and the result shows more banks in trouble. Several Italian banks are in terrible economic situation, and it shows that the European economic crisis will take much long to be resolved than previously thought.
